Purpose of this page

This page explains how Bistantly uses location information across the rider app, merchant app, website, support tools, and delivery workflows. Location information is important because deliveries depend on pickup addresses, drop-off addresses, rider proximity, estimated arrival time, active delivery progress, and safety checks.

02

Types of location information used

Bistantly may use different types of location information, including typed addresses, map-selected coordinates, rider device location, approximate network location, pickup coordinates, drop-off coordinates, route-related information, and location timestamps.

Not every delivery will use every type of location information. Some deliveries may be created using manual address entry only, while others may include map confirmation or live rider location where available.

03

Merchant pickup and drop-off information

Merchants may enter pickup and drop-off information manually. A merchant may also confirm a pickup or destination location on a map where the feature is available. Address information may include street names, landmarks, floor or gate details, recipient details, delivery instructions, and optional notes.

Bistantly uses this information to help riders understand where to pick up, where to deliver, who to contact, and what instructions apply. Accurate address information helps reduce failed deliveries, delays, disputes, and extra charges.

04

Rider location while online

When a rider chooses to go online, Bistantly may use the rider location to match the rider with suitable nearby delivery opportunities. This may include checking distance from pickup points, vehicle suitability, zone availability, fresh location status, and whether the rider is approved and available.

The goal is to avoid sending jobs to riders who are too far away, offline, unavailable, unapproved, or not suitable for the delivery request. Riders should only go online when they are ready to receive delivery opportunities.

05

Rider location during active delivery

When a rider is assigned to an active delivery, Bistantly may use rider location to support pickup progress, merchant visibility, recipient coordination, delivery status, ETA updates, safety checks, and support investigations.

Where live tracking is available, the merchant may see rider movement or estimated progress during the active delivery. The level of detail shown may depend on app version, map provider, device settings, network strength, and operational availability.

06

Location and ETA estimates

Bistantly may use location information to estimate distance, arrival time, and delivery movement. These estimates are helpful but not guaranteed. Traffic, road conditions, weather, rider movement, phone battery, GPS accuracy, mobile network quality, map data, and unexpected delays can affect the result.

Bistantly may show estimates to merchants and riders to improve planning. Users should treat estimated arrival times as guidance, not as a guaranteed arrival time.

07

When location may not work correctly

Location features may not work correctly if device location permission is denied, GPS is turned off, battery saver blocks location updates, the device is offline, the app is closed, mobile network is weak, the phone is using an inaccurate location source, or the rider is in an area with poor signal.

If a rider location becomes stale, Bistantly may ask the rider to refresh location before receiving jobs or continuing certain delivery actions.

08

Location permissions

The app may ask for location permission when location is needed. Riders may need to grant location access to go online, receive nearby delivery opportunities, or support active deliveries. Merchants may use location features when confirming pickup or drop-off points, but manual address entry may still be available where supported.

Users can manage location permissions from their device settings. Turning off location may limit or disable some Bistantly features.

09

Who can see location information

A merchant may see relevant pickup and drop-off information for deliveries they create. A rider may see the pickup and drop-off information needed to complete an assigned or available delivery. A merchant may see rider proximity, ETA, or active delivery movement where supported.

Bistantly support and operations teams may access location-related information where needed for delivery support, fraud prevention, safety review, dispute handling, account review, or technical troubleshooting.

10

Location and privacy

Bistantly is designed to use location information for delivery operations, safety, matching, and support. The platform should not use rider live location simply for unrelated tracking. Rider live location is mainly relevant while the rider is online, receiving opportunities, or assigned to an active delivery.

Bistantly may keep location-related records where needed for delivery history, disputes, audit logs, fraud prevention, support, and legal or operational requirements.

11

Good location practices for users

Merchants should enter clear addresses, landmarks, and phone numbers. Riders should keep device location on while online, avoid using fake location tools, keep the app updated, and refresh location when asked. Recipients should be reachable and available at the stated drop-off location.
